power window ]i[ #787# #7887# #7# power window is a 200 line by 39 character screen editor. this also supports setup for darkterm's color usage. by using the f1 key, you set the default startup colors for the border and the background. the character color is whatever you choose. the clr/home asks you if you are sure you want to erase the screen. shift run/stop records/decodes the screen into a seq "1 time read" format so that it may then be saved to disk. [saving doesn't scratch any old files.] home will return you to the top of the screen. if at the top, it will go to the top of the screen (row 0). the delete key has 2 modes, use f7 to toggle them. one is the normal mode and the other is a held delete. the quote is allowed to be toggled as a normal quote or an '. some systems do not allow for quotes to be used in their system files, so this program will not allow quotes to enter from keyboard or loading if you say quotes are not allowed when you run power window. display bar #78"87# #7# row: 000 rvs column: 00 " 1 rvs will reverse when at anytime reverse mode is entered. (kinda nice!) will reverse when in uppercase mode. will reverse when in hold delete mode. shows your current cursor color! "1 these two tell you the following: "=commodore key "=ctrl key 1=numeric color key. this informs you of what color is under the cursor, so you can reproduce it using the keyboard. another noticable improvement over power window 1, 2 & 3 is the cursor turbo's after 20 key repeats and is more controllable. scrolling is also faster and more controllable. the entire system is 20% faster than power window 3! range editing #787# #78"87# the range is set using the f3 for the top and f5 for the bottom. ctrl-c will cut the range from the screen. this will also move everything else up, incase you want to delete a mass range out of your screen. ctrl-d will delete 1 line at the current cursor row. ctrl-i will insert 1 line at the current cursor row. ctrl-m will allow you to move your range around the screen using cursor keys and return to finish. ctrl-u will swap between upper/lower cases. and when decoding (shift run/stop) it will flag the uppercase mode inside the file, so that darkterm will accept it. (sends ctrl-u & ctrl-i) ctrl-x will re-run the program. the text is untouched incase you made a mistake, the run/stop restore will always return you to edit mode from anywhere in the program. including load/save. diskette command area #7#7#7#7#7#7#7#7#7#7# this area can be entered using the command prefixes "@", "$", ">" when asked for a file name or you can press f2 during the screen editor. @ will give current disk status $ will give current disk directory > will send text to the error channel. the commands only affect device 8. note: once used, the diskette command area will always return you to the screen editor. special options menu 7878787 7878787 7887 to enter this menu, press f8 when in the screen editor. the following options are available: append file from disk appends a file from disk to the current one in memory. terminal mode allows you to call a bbs or act as a bbs. no modem operations are carried out at all during this terminal mode (ie: auto-dial/answer). send file over modem sends the current text in memory over the modem via the terminal mode. you are again asked if you are the bbs and if you want asc][ or not. if you do not want asc][, then colour is used. record segment of text to disk. using the range pointers, you can save that range to disk for later appending. print text to a 1525 printer. this will discard any ctrl code that will mess up the printer. plus, you can see what your pic looks like on paper! return alone exits menu. run/stop stops output of the "send file over modem" option. commodore-ctrl exits terminal mode. a transmitting file will stop when terminal mode has been exited, so you must stay in terminal mode to completely send the file. to toggle online buffer/edit mode use ctrl-_. run/stop also terminates. if edit mode hits 200 lines during any extra edit mode, it will stop. run/stop should stop most options. if that fails, press run/stop & restore to return you to the editor. all disk files are closed when this is done. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ i'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience that power window 1 - 3 have caused. i'm sorry about the lack of testing, but i tried everything that i could think of, but obviously, i didn't think hard enough. anyhow, i believe that this one is bug free. if there are any comments, let me know! ah - bbi soft
