Files

When you connect to a Night Hunters server, you may automatically download all the sounds and graphics if the server allows downloads, but the predator model MAY NOT DOWNLOAD CORRECTLY, so you SHOULD DOWNLOAD THE CLIENT FROM BELOW instead!

Night Hunters/NHX 1.51 (Windows / Linux):

To play the game OR to run a server, you need to download ONE of the following files.  Both archives contain the EXACT same files.  You will be able to play on Night Hunters 1.5x and 1.4x servers.

If you own Quake2 Mission Pack 1 from Xatrix, then you can also play on Night Hunters Xatrix servers (NHX) if you follow the directions in the NH-Xatrix-readme.txt file in the xatrix folder.

After downloading the client or the update, extract it to your quake2 directory and run nhstart.bat (or nhstart for Linux) to see a demo of Night Hunters!  (Note: the demo has the female model as the predator)

Also, READ THE README FILES!

nh1-51.zip    (for Windows users)

nh1-51.tgz    (for Linux users)

Night Hunters/NHX 1.51 (Macintosh):
Ported by The Railgun Project

If you already play NightHunters:

You downloaded the .ZIP file above in the past, and so you don't need to do anything.  You have all you need.

If you are new to NightHunters:

    Download the full install

If you already play NightHunters and want to run your own server:

    Download the library file only

The Xatrix library file is also available but has not been tested!  Make sure you back up your existing library file in your quake2/xatrix folder before extracting the Xatrix library, or it will be overwritten!!

If you own Quake2 Mission Pack 1 from Xatrix, then you can also play on Night Hunters Xatrix servers (NHX) if you follow the directions in the NH-Xatrix-readme.txt file in the xatrix folder.

Also, READ THE README FILES!

mac_nhunters151_sit.bin
(full install)

nhunters151_mac_sit.bin
(library file only for server)

nhunters151_xatrix_mac_sit.bin

Night Hunters 1.51 source code (Windows / Linux / Mac):

The Windows source code has been created with Visual C++ 5.

The source code for Linux should be compiled with GCC 2.7.2.3 or a compatible compiler.  EGCS is known not to work properly with Quake2 mods.

The Mac .zip file should compile on Windows, Linux and the Mac.
